Getting Ready for the LA Audio Show!

Year after year, show after show, I am amazed at how people transform rooms in hotels into listening rooms. The truth is, just getting all the gear to the show is a daunting task. Here are a few pictures from the day before the show opens; please come back tomorrow evening for pictures from day 1.

One of the amazing things is just how much there is to unbox.

Then there is the rush to make a mess look and sound great.

It takes so many to make it happen

Then once you’re unpacked, you have to dial the system in.

Here is a preview of AMG’s Special Anniversary Edition of the Gyro turntable with the brand new nine-inch version of their turbo tonearm. This is the first time it’s been to the U.S.A.

As Becky and I were walking around we heard “Old Blue Eyes” sounding great, and we headed down the hall to find the room. It was the VAC room and who could believe sound that great on the day before the show.

Just take a look at the VAC Electronics with reel to reel and a Kronos turntable

In the Voss Audio room, they were getting every single fingerprint off.

Look what I found in the Voss Audio room, a vintage Goldmund turntable with a heavily modded Rabco tonearm.

Well, we are going to keep on boppin’ so check back tomorrow evening to see more.
