June Record Reviews Are Up – Exploring the Roots of American Music

There are a few albums that can truly be called “the roots” of American music. This month I’m reviewing four of these albums by artists who reflect the heart and soul to what is truly American music. Hope you enjoy these four:

  • Allison Krauss + Union Station Live
  • Sarah Jarosz – Follow Me Down
  • Sheffield Lab: Confederation
  • Norman Blake – Tut Taylor – Sam Bush – Butch Robins – Vassar Clements – David Holland – Jethro Burns (More commonly known as Sauerkraut and Solar Energy)

Read reviews of some of my favorite albums that are the roots of  American Music.

  1. A must play, at least once a week for me, is Sarah Jarosz’s Bonnaroo cover of Crazy. (YouTube)
