Presidents Day with Lily and Becky!

L1000211Now that Becky has a job that has paid holidays, I have committed to try to do things as a family on these days. So, for President’s Day we took our 7 year old granddaughter, Lily, over to San Francisco to ride the Cable Car that runs up and down California Street.

We took a seat and waited for the Cable Car. It arrived in a few minutes and we were lucky enough to get outside seats.

This route goes right through Chinatown. Since Lily’s favorite food is Chinese, we stopped at a Chinese restaurant for lunch. It is the time of year for celebrating Chinese New Year’s, so we were greater by dancing dragons, loud drums and firecrackers when we got off of the cable car.

I was impressed with this drummer commitment to play while going up this steep hill.

Everything in Chinatown was very busy, and the energy level was high and lots of fun!

We picked a place where everyone else eating there was Asian. I don’t remember the name, but other than communicating, it was an enjoyable meal. Most importantly, Lily enjoyed it.

This store was Lily’s favorite. I think she wanted nearly everything in the window!

This pickup was the neatest thing I saw in Chinatown. I don’t think it was actually for sale at the “Far East Flea Market.”

As we rode the cable car up and down California Street, I realized that I had forgotten what great views you can get of San Francisco from the cable car.

It was the best Presidents Day ever!
