AXPONA 2019 opened to the public with good crowds all day. We spent the day visiting listening rooms, so here are a few more pictures of what was available for listening.
High Fidelity Services – Neat Acoustics
In this room, the Neat Acoustics Ekstra loudspeakers were providing the sound powered by the Trilogy Audio Systems electronics. The analog source was the TW Acoustic Raven GT SE with a Raven 10.5″ Tonearm and an Ortofon A95 cartridge. Digital was provided with a Melco N1ZH Mk. 2 and the DAC was the Playback Design Merlot Digital to Analog Converter. IC Cables were Signal Projects interconnects and speaker cables, and the power cables and power conditioner was from Vibex.
High Fidelity Services – Verity
Here the Verity Audio Lakme loudspeakers were driven by the Verity Audio DAC-PRE Digital Preamplifier and DAC and the Verity Audio AMP-45 Stereo Amplifier. For digital, they used the Melco N1ZH Mk. 2. Cables were Signal Projects interconnects and speaker cables, and the power cables and power conditioner were from Vibex.
Glenn Poor’s Audio Video – Room 444
Glenn Poor Audio (Room 444) sponsored two rooms on the 4th floor. This room featured Harbeth loudspeakers with AudioQuest, LUXMAN, Playback Designs and Technics.
McIntosh and Bowers & Wilkins
Showing some flair, this is one of the larger rooms, and it featured the McIntosh MC-611 monoblocks and the Bowers & Wilkins 800 B3 loudspeakers.
Zesto Audio
In the Zesto Audio room, they were using their electronics to drive the Marten Django XL Silver Grey speakers. The source was a Merrill Williams Audio REAL 101.3 turntable with a Tri-Planar U2 10″ arm and a Micro Gullwing SLR MC Cartridge. Cables were from Cardas.
Destination Audio – ModWright Instruments
The Destination Audio NiKA Horn Speakers were driven by the ModWright monoblocks using cables from WyWires. The source was the SOTA Cosmos Eclipse Turntable, which is new for 2019, with the Origin Live Enterprise Tonearm and a Dynavector XV-1s cartridge.
High Water Sound
Everything in this room was new for 2019. The TW-Acustic GT2 turntable with a TW-Acustic 12″ tonearm, and the Horning MK.III speakers were driven by New Audio Frontier electronics with cables by TEO.
Vinnie Rossi
The Stiletto 15 Loudspeakers had their world debut here. This room used L2 Signature monoblock amplifiers with Triode Wire Labs cables. He was using a MacBook Pro into the L2 Signature Preamp/DAC.
Well Pleased A/V
Here, the Rethm Maarga v2 Loudspeakers were getting some attention with a Qualiton A20i SE amp and an Aqua Formula xHD D/A and an Innuos Zenith MKIII Music Server. Swisscables and a GigaWatt PC-4 Power Conditioner rounded out the equipment.
