Overture, a nationally-known dealer from Wilmington, DE, teamed with Magico and Technics at the Capital Audio Show. Their room featured the Magico M2 Loudspeakers, but the star of the room was Bill Voss, of Technics, entertaining all as the room’s DJ.
The first time I met Bill coincides with the first time I heard the Technics SL-1000RE-S at its West Coast debut at Sound and Vision SF. Every time I hear a system with this turntable, I am impressed with the drive, power, and quietness of the sound.
The Van Den Hul Master Signature phono cartridge ($11,995) was mounted on the Technics tonearm. The phono preamplifier was Van Den Hul’s Grail SB ($18,250). The preamp was the Esoteric Grandioso C1 two-chassis preamplifier ($38,000). They were also using a pair of their Grandioso M1 mono amps ($44,000) powering the Magico M2 loudspeakers ($63,600/pair)
All of this gear was producing beautiful music through the Magico M2 loudspeakers. I talked to many people at the show who thought this room had the best-sounding system at the show.
