There was a steady crowd at the California Audio Show all day on Saturday with some rooms close to capacity. I have to say this venue is a good pick for a show of this size. The hotel is in multiple buildings, and the show is somewhat off by itself in one building, which makes is very easy to navigate.
I also want to say a special thank you to Constantine Soo, show director, for putting together equipment sheets on every room. Granted this is much easier to do for a smaller show, but it is helpful to the press, attendees, and those of you reading show reports. You will find complete details on every system for this year’s California Audio Show here.
Aaudio Imports
Aaudio Imports made this boardroom sing with a very nice digital system featuring a Ypsilon DAC, Wilson Benesch (UK) A.C.T. One Evolution speakers, and Stage III cables.
Ryan Speakers
This picture does not do justice to the sound of this system. These little Ryan R620 Speakers are worthy of a listen. The Exogal electronics and DAC streaming Qobuz and an Exogal by WyWires cable system completed the system.
Selah/Musica Pristina/Benchmark
Another very simple system that would fit into a compact space. This show was the world debut of the Selah Audio Cali4 floorstander. Love these cabinets! Musica Pristina provided the digital source with Benchmark Media amplification.
Salk Sound/McGary Audio/Exogal/Anticables
The system here included Salk Sound speakers, an Exogal DAC, the McGary Audio amp and Anticables to tie it all together. Trust us, you will be hearing more about this amp.
Sound Lab
These big curved electrostatic speakers, the Sound Lab Majestic M645s, put out a lot of sound. Bricasti Design supplied the electronics and the DAC. Cables were from Audio Reference Technology.
Voxativ
Okay, so it was probably a little easier to set up this system. The Voxativ Hagen speakers with the Voxative Absolut Box will run you under $8,000, and it’s for places where a big system just won’t fit.
Wyred 4 Sound
In their all Wyred 4 Sound system, their Tempus speakers were fed by their 10th Anniversary DAC. New products in this system included their Aura preamplifier and Recovery USB Reclocker.
Zesto Audio
The Joseph Audio Perspective2 speakers combined with the Zesto Audio electronics, Cardas Audio cables and a Merrill Williams turntable made for sweet music in this room. The picture really doesn’t do justice to the beauty of these speaker cabinets.
ifi/AMR/Unisinger
The iFi/Usinger room sounded very nice with ifi supplying the amps, AMR the DAC and pre-main amplifier, and Unisinger speakers. Cables were from Cardas Audio.
