If you’re not familiar with Fritz speakers, you need to be. At the 2013 California Audio Show, I had the pleasure of serving on a panel discussion where attendees were invited to ask audio writers question. On the panel was Jason Victor Serinus of Stereophile, Neil Gader The Absolute Sound, Michael Mercer of Positive Feedback, and myself. One of the questions we were asked was what rooms we would recommend not to miss. Only one room was named by all four of us; the Fritz Speakers, WyWires, and Wyred 4 Sound room.
These are an all-new speaker from Fritz Heiler. For the mid/bass driver, they use a 7-inch paper cone from ScanSpeak’s “Revelator” line. The tweeter is something new; a N28BER, a beryllium dome unit from Transducer Lab. They build all their drivers in the USA.
I’m not ready to write a review yet because I’ve only listened to them in my upstairs digital/video system. I will be moving them downstairs to my reference system soon. I can tell you this’ they are the best speakers I have ever had in the upstairs system. This would include speakers like the 47 Labs Lens 2, Audience ClairAudient 1+1V2+, Audio Note AN-Ks, Audio Space’s LS3/5a, Fritz own Accuton 6, Lindemann BL-6, Terresonic Magus, and the GamuT L3.
