As a reviewer, I still haven’t gotten over the thrill of unpacking a piece of equipment that’s in for review. It’s not quite Christmas morning, but with some shipments, it can get close, especially if the product is new to me.
I first learned about Audio Hungary at the LA Audio Show when visiting the Springfield, Virginia-based distributor Well Pleased Audio Vida’s room. This little beauty was sounding good driving Rethm’s new entry-level speaker, the Bhaava. It’s a Stereo, Class A push-pull integrated amplifier rated at 20 watts per channel of pure Class A power.
I know the front panel doesn’t look like an integrated amp, but it is. The volume control potentiometer and the input selector rotary switch are connected to the same shaft. Indicators informing about the actual state of the amp are located on the front panel.
The Qualiton A20i tubes are four Tung-Sol 5881s, two Tesla E88CCs and two Tungsram ECC83s. The Rethm Bhaava speakers were sounding great at the show driven by this amp, so I can’t wait to get it hooked up to my Teresonics. Review to come in September.
