Audio shows are always a fun time to visit with friends. We ran into Garth Leerer (right) of Musical Surroundings setting up his turntable display. This display has become a standard for Garth at audio shows.
Here’s a look at all the boxes Garth and his team had already unpacked. It is so much work to set up for an audio show.
I heard Rob Wasserman’s “Duets” album playing in the hall, and I knew I had found the folks at Musical Surroundings setting up their room (probably the reason for some of the boxes ablove. They were using Audio Research amplification and Sonus Farber speakers.
We left Garth and turned around to see Kevin Hayes and Darlene Monteiro taking a break from the VAC room. Becky doesn’t get in many of our pictures, but she’s in the middle here. We’re looking forward to hearing the new VAC Statement 450i iQ Integrated Amplifier.
The Focal room may have the biggest in-room display at the show. This picture shows some of the work they had already done to get ready for the show.
Here’s a picture of some of the speakers in the Focal display. We are looking forward to some listening time here tomorrow.
Classic Speakers and Atma-Sphere Amplification were making good progress toward being ready in the morning.
The Vandersteen room was really coming together. They always have great sound, and we’ll be back to listen.
Some real work was going into setting up the Piega spakers. Notice the tape measures to dial in exact measurements for the best sound.
Things were beginning to look really good in The new Von Schweikert Ultra Nine Loudspeakers in the are gorgeous in the red, but we were in no way prepared for thesize of the new VAC integrated amp.
In the Gobel HIgh End room, they were setting up the big Bendwave speakers and hooking up lots of CH Precision electronics. These may be the most unusual-looking speakers at the show.
We will be posting more tomorrow and giving you a little more information on how things sound. We can tell you, the show venue and the exhibitors are ready for a good crowd this weekend.
