Thales of Switzerland makes two turntables; the Compact that is designed to be used with the Simplicity II Tangential tonearm and the subject of this article the Slim Turntable to be used with their Easy Tangential Pivoting tonearm Thales believes that tonearms and turntables are best designed to work together. The Slim has to be the smallest high-end turntable I have ever seen; they refer to is as “The Most Elegant Turntable.” It’s surely not plug and play, but for a turntable with a tangential arm it’s not that difficult. It took me about an hour to set it up and another hour to dial it in. Like the Compact it is a battery operated turntable that will play for 16 hours before it needs to be charged again.
Setting it up I was really impressed with the motor and the quality of both the inner platter and the platter. While the turntable is small is much heavier than it looks. The platter and the plinth are made of a very hard and dense material. I’m really looking forward to spinning some tunes on it today.
Hi Jack, I don’t see your review of the Thales Slim and Easy. Is it still to be posted? Love your work. Regards, Mike
Yes, it is. I turned in the review to Dagogo a while back, I’ll check and see what the hold up is.
Thanks,
jack
Thanks Jack, Hope to see it real soon. Rgds, Mike
