Look what the Easter Bunny brought me! Well, OK, it was really the FedEx guy on the Saturday before Easter.
I will be reviewing these for Dagogo soon, but let me make a few quick comments. I spent most of the day today comparing the Cash Box Set of his American Recordings to the individual LPs I already had. I’m glad I got the box set, but it was a very interesting comparison with no clear winner without combing the two. I’ll keep listening and let you know on Dagogo soon.
The Buddy DeFranco and Billie Holiday LP was incredible, and the early Cat Steven’s album was surprisingly good. The only dud was Beautiful, the Carole King Musical. I went to see this live, and it was incredible, but I promise the LP sounds like Sony took the MP3 and just put it on vinyl.
Anyway, listening to all these new LPs was a great way to spend a rainy day and as bad as we need rain in California, we will thank God for the rain.
