ESS Labs to Show ‘SPECIAL EDITION’ Speaker Plus Entire Line of AMT Models

(For Immediate Release – May 10, 2017) – ESS Laboratories  is excited and proud to announce that we will be displaying our full lineup of Air-Motion Transformer speakers and upcoming AMT headphones at the Los Angeles Audio Show (LAAS), June 2-4, at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, room 542. Join us to hear American-made “Sound as clear as light.

New AMT Model Lineup:

New for 2017 are several models in the AMT lineup that enables the listener to customize her application based on room size, placement and budget. Every model in the AMT lineup features the renowned Air Motion Transformer, a revised crossover design, and updated low-frequency drivers. These implementations give us a more efficient lineup that sounds as good with today’s class D amplifiers as they do with your favorite tube amps. For the home theater fans, we’ve even developed a wide-dispersion center channel to pair with our classic lineup.

Premiering at the show:

The new ML-8 stand-mount speaker features exquisite woodwork showcasing elegant, retro lines. Sound wise, the ML-8 plays with rhythm and ease, combining smooth, airy details down to its lowest frequencies. The AMT disperses wide and deep, with a dynamic clarity and micro detail. Its level adjustment can be set to fit your acoustic environment.

ESS AMT Limited Edition:

The AMT Limited Edition is our flagship model. It retains the classic ESS pyramid look, and we believe it can sit with the best speakers on the market. The AMT’s life-like projection and dispersion—in combination with an improved (quicker!) bass driver, a newly-constructed voice coil with fewer filter components, and an improved passive radiator—makes for an ideal speaker system that integrates as well with home theater as it does a traditional two channel setup.

ESS Headphones:

Yep, that’s right: ESS has joined the headphone community. We will soon have three new models slotted above our entry-level RLM-713, which has recently received glowing reviews from the Head-Fi community, Hi Fi+, and Positive Feedback. We’re also proud to boast that seven Grammy-winning and multi-platinum selling artists are using ESS headphones in the studio for tracking, mixing, and home use.

ESS RLM-713:

The RLM-713 was our first modern entry into the headphone market, and it took us two years to develop and tune it to our discerning tastes. This elegant, entry-level model is an on-ear dynamic headphone for studio and casual use. It features a flexible, lightweight band, and it uses a memory-foam cushion that, while it doesn’t cover your ears, it—and the wood chamber cups—effectively isolate outside noise for smooth, easy, and non-fatiguing listening. $249.00

ESS Model 252:

Soon to be released, the Model 252 is an over-the-ear variant of the RLM-713. Though it features the same driver, this model has a larger, oblong-sculpted wood chamber for extended wide frequency response and an outstanding soundstage. An optional, external Bluetooth .5 transceiver will soon be available. $TBD

ESS AMT 420 Hybrid:

The first of two new, advanced AMT headphones, the AMT 420 Hybrid features a 30mm dynamic Kapton low-frequency driver that works in conjunction with a true, multifold Air-Motion Transformer. An optional, external Bluetooth .5 transceiver is in the works. $TBD

ESS AMT 422:

Our flagship headphone will redefine on-ear listening for the serious audiophile. The AMT 422 features a full-range Air-Motion Transformer (15Hz – 45kHz), and we can’t wait for you to hear it. An optional, external Bluetooth .5 transceiver will soon be available. $TBD
