LA Audio Show Report #9, Audio Vista Points You Have to See

As you travel the Pacific Coast Highway in California and other areas of the United States you see road signs alerting you to a Vista Point. Most of these, like the one above, are sights you shouldn’t miss. There were rooms at the LA show that should have had Vista Point signs outside their doors. Inside these rooms were things you just had to see to believe. So, I wanted to share a few pictures that I feel you have to see, but they don’t really fit into any category that I could come up with.

Rick at High Fidelity Cables wanted to demonstrate that more magnets were better so they made the mother-of-all cables. Do you see it near the top in the picture?

Aaudio Imports was showing Metaxes MARQUIS “Memento Mori” head(phone) amp.

A Wilson Benesch Torus + Amp Infrasonic Generator sitting on a hotel end table. Don’t worry about its placement, it wasn’t hooked up.

Bruce Richardson of VooDoo Cables located in Oakland, California, had a sense of humor in displaying so many of his cables. If you look closely, you will see that all of the equipment is facing away from the front of the room. This allowed show attendees to see all these cables as they come into the room.

The PERFECT8 Technologies room in the HighEnd Zone was showing a pair of visually striking and see-through PERFECT8 Technologies Point Mk.III loudspeakers. They did cost $125,000 a pair and sounded really good, but I’m not quite ready for that much transparency. I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist.

And last, do you need a “Blue Meter” fix? McIntosh is always ready to satisfy you!
