Whether you are streaming digital or playing vinyl, an audio system has to have speakers. They came in all shapes and sizes there to strut their stuff at RMAF 2019. Here are few that we are sure made room visitors take a second look.
Joseph Audio Pearl 3
Here’s proof, a post from my 2018 AXPONA coverage, I have been a fan of these Joseph Audio speakers since they first came out. I’m sure they sounded as good as ever at RMAF 2019.
Nola Concert Grand Reference Gold 2 Loudspeakers
This was the first appearance for the Nola Concert Grand Reference Gold 2 Loudspeakers. There are a number of features that give these speakers their unique look, but perhaps the one you’ll notice most is the 12-inch true ribbon tweeters. Find out more here in our show report on this room.
MC Audiotech Forty-10 2-Way Loudspeakers
An unusual look for a speaker. These Paul Paddock-designed loudspeakers from MC Audiotech use 10 of “the latest generation” of bending wave drivers and cover everything above 100 Hz.
McIntosh XRT1.1K Loudspeakers
McIntosh introduced the XRT1.1K loudspeakers last November. They basically are 14 inches shorter and 173 pounds lighter than their big brother, the XRT2.1K.
QLN Prestige 3 Loudspeakers
The QLN Prestige 3 Loudspeakers, I have never seen a pair of QLN speakers with cabinets that are this beautiful. We liked them the first time we heard them, see my initial comments in this post.
Focal Scala Utopia V2
This is Focal‘s 40th anniversary and with products like the Focal Scala Utopia V2 two-way loudspeakers, there’s certainly something to celebrate.
Tekton Design Moabs
The Tekton Design Moabs are strutting their stuff in a big way. We weren’t able to hear them in person, so I can’t really comment. They certainly are an interesting design at a very economical introductory price of $4,500 per pair. Read what we said about the Parasound and Tekton Design room here.
PS Audio AN3 Speakers
It’s all in the design meant to honor Arnie Nudell. The AN3 shown at RMAF differs from the model shown at AXPONA earlier this year. In this new iteration, all of the drivers are designed by PS Audio’s Senior Loudspeaker Engineer, Chris Brunhaver, and are custom-built for PS Audio.
Boenicke Audio W8 SE Speakers
Built by Swiss recording engineer Sven Boenicke, the Boenicke Audio W8 SE Speakers, are not conventional loudspeakers. In fact, Boenicke had absolutely no intention of building conventional loudspeakers. They are small towers with side-firing woofers.
Alsyvox Botticelli
The Alsyvox Botticelli speakers are a full range planar ribbon design. These are an absolutely beautiful design, and I hope to get to hear them in person. Now, these strut their stuff in a big and beautiful way!
AudioSolutions Virtuoso M Loudspeakers
RMAF 2019 was the US debut for the AudioSolutions Virtuoso M speakers. The Virtuoso series employs much of the technology originally developed for the company’s flagship Vantage 5th-anniversary series.
Göbel Divin Loudspeaker
A Divin Loudspeaker from Göbel® Products U.S.A. provided the sound for the Bending Wave room.
