RMAF 2019: Turntable Eye Candy

Becky says that turntables are the jewelry of audio shows, and yes, they are flashy, tend to sparkle and catch your eye in the show room. Here’s some turntable eye candy from RMAF 2019.

Show after show, I am blown away by the beauty of the Kronos Pro Turntable as well as by the musicality in every system that I have heard it in.

The magnificent E.A.T. Fortissimo Turntable with its new platter. A separate sub chassis and a mass-loaded turntable are the best of both worlds.

The McIntosh MT5 Precision Turntable comes with a high-performance platter and motor drive assembly, precision tonearm and a high output moving coil cartridge that is also compatible with moving magnet inputs. Just add speakers and enjoy that glow.

RMAF 2019 was the North American debut of the AMG Viella Forte 12 Turbo turntable. It is shown here in the engraved version.

The J.Sikora Initial Turntable is anything but entry-level. They say, “We reduced the number of materials and overall complexity, whilst maintaining superb performance, significantly reducing the production costs.” We say, “What a great idea!”

The J.Sikora StandardMAX boasts maximum rigidity, minimal resonance, minimal vibrations and the highest achievable level of rotational stability. The table can accommodate a wide variety of tonearms.

The VPI HW-40 Turntable pays tribute to the company’s 40 years of engineering, technology, and development. I don’t know what there is about the VPI Anniversary Turntable, but it’s what I think a turntable looks like.

The SME 15 with the SME Series 300 Tonearm mounted with a DS Audio optical cartridge was being used to show off EMM Labs‘ new phono stage for optical cartridges.

A couple of beautiful Kiseki Phono Cartridges; the Purpleheart NS and the Blue NS.

The E.A.T. C-Sharp Turntable is so simple and so elegant. I have always liked the looks of this compact table.

Here’s another AMG turntable. This time it’s the Viella V12 with a cherry skirt.

Here’s a rather unique turntable with some history. It’s an Artisan Fidelity Commonwealth Electronics 12D idler drive turntable with a Reed SP tonearm and a Lyra Etna cartridge.
