T.H.E. Show 2018 – Setup Day

When we arrived at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum, there was no doubt they were ready for this year’s The Home Entertainment Show. I know there has been a lot of negative press about everything that has happened with the two audio shows in L.A. this year and the bigger one canceling at the last moment, but T.H.E. Show looks like it’s going to be really fun.

The people from MBL were working hard to get their room ready for tomorrow. Even with hardwood floors, the rooms look to me to be easier to work with than those at AXPONA.

The Alma Music & Audio room was coming together. What a room this should be with the YG Acoustics speakers, Audio Research and  D’Agostino components and the new Technics SP 1000R turntable.

Walking by one of the exotic cars on exhibit, I saw that there were things that needed that needed to be set up to have it ready for tomorrow’s opening. There are some gorgeous cars on display.

Tweak Studio West was almost finished with their room. They will be featuring the Reed turntable, Burmeister Electronics and YG Acoustic speakers.

It’s quite a treat to come out of an audio room and see this beautiful, lipstick red classic Vett.

Another room almost ready was the one for High End by OZ. They were using the entry-level floor standing speakers from MBL and electronics from Vitus Audio.

Aaudio Imports’ room was really coming together with Ypsilon electronics and Wilson Benesch speakers.

This is just a taste of what’s here for this show. We did not make it to all the rooms by any stretch of the imagination, but these were all the pictures we got from setup day. We had to get back to the room for the NBA Finals!

While it is a smaller show, there’s some real quality here, and we are looking forward to hearing some really good systems over the weekend and visiting with fellow audiophiles. This is a beautiful venue, and we predict that it could become the home for future audio shows for years to come.
