After my review of the Wayne Picquet’s Restored Quad ESLs, John McDonald of Audience contacted me and said as much as I liked the Quad ESLs, I might like the ClairAudient 1+1 and I said why not send me a pair to review. So they arrived today and are up and playing.
The picture above is not very good; I’ll have better ones when I review them. I just wanted to share that the Audience ClairAudient 1+1 speakers have arrived for review. I review their speaker “THE ONE” back in September. As much as I like it, I have been surprised at how good the ClairAudient 1+1 are sounding right out of the box in my video/digital system. I’m going to play them in this system for a few days before putting them in my reference system.
One thing I was not at all prepared for was how beautiful they are with or without the grills. The woodwork is just so well finished.
By the way speaking of the Quads, I’ve been doing research for an up coming Beatnik column on vintage gear and came across two pictures that were used in advertisements.
One of the pictures was used in British and American advertisements. The other was used to advertise in France. I bet you can guess which one for which country.
